Weekend in the Woods
In honor of our 5th wedding anniversary, where ‘wood’ is the traditional gift, we rented a cabin outside of Mohican State Park. The park is about 1.5 hours from our house, making it the perfect spot for a quick weekend getaway. We had lots of fun relaxing at the cabin, hiking, making campfires and smores, visiting a local farm and eating picnics. Ashton had such a good time that he cried when we got home. :)

Mother's Day
Mother’s Day was a beautiful spring day and I had a lovely day out with three of my favorite people. I got to sleep in an extra half hour, which was a great start to the day! We then went to church and on to brunch where we had a delicious meal and an outstanding bloody mary. And bc it was a special day, after brunch, we went to get ice cream. Ashton was in heaven! We walked around downtown a bit and then headed home for a group nap. :) We capped off the day with a yummy bbq of oysters, shrimp and chicken and a wagon walk around our neighborhood. Such a wonderful day and so thankful for my beautiful darlings – I’m a very lucky mama!

Elise's Room
There was a great debate in the Taylor household while I was pregnant with Elise…to move? Or not to move? We ended up deciding to stay put and turn our former office into Elise’s room. It’s a tiny room – I’m talking no closet tiny. I like to think of it as cozy. :)
In any event, some of you will know that I love dragonflies and so we decided to go with this as a loose ‘theme’ for the room. And while I love pink, I kinda wanted something different, so we went with aqua and purple. It was a bit of a labor of love bc I don’t think we got more than 2 pieces at any one single store but it all seemed to come together in the end. Elise especially seems to love the chandelier and all of the light that it casts and Ashton always asks to touch the dragonflies. For a room that was once lovingly referred to as a closet (you know who you are!), we are happy with the end result!
