VA Vacay

We headed to Virginia for a long weekend at the end of June.  It was a quick trip but we had a great time visiting family, checking out the zoo (which was so great!), taking walks around town and eating some yummy food.  Ashton had fun playing with his cousin Giovanni in the baby pool and tooling around the yard in his car.  Ashton loved that car so much that Grandma Nat and Grandaddy decided he had to have one of his own and shipped a car to Cleveland.  Gotta love grandparents!  :)

*Uncle Chris took some awesome pics of our trip...check out my Facebook page, he shared the link there.

Little Helper

Ashton loves to help out around the house!   He sweeps the floor, puts dishes away, gardens, helps cook dinner and even likes to put his dirty clothes in the laundry basket.  A true renaissance man – he’s going to make an excellent husband one day!  :)

He's very proud of himself too. :)

In Loving Memory

It was with great sadness that we said goodbye last week to my grandmother, Kathleen Trexler.  She was, among other things, a doting grandmother and a proud great grandmother.  I will always cherish all of the great memories we made over the years and I'm so happy that she got to know Ashton.

Two years ago, when I was pregnant with the little man, without fail, during every conversation, she would tell me take care of myself and ‘our baby’.  When he was born, she was over the moon with joy for ‘our baby’.  During one of our last conversations, never one to linger on the negative and not wanting to talk about herself for too long, she concluded the conversation with the now familiar phrase, ‘Kiss our baby goodnight’.

We will miss you terribly but promise to always give ‘our baby’ a kiss goodnight for you.
