Ashton's First Play Date

Ashton had his first play date with the beautiful, Eden Weiss, a couple weeks ago.  Eden is the daughter of one of my colleagues and is about 5 months Ashton's senior (he likes the older ladies!).  Eden showed him a few new tricks and they had lots of fun playing together.

It was very exciting for me to see what we have to look forward to in the coming months!  It was also a good reminder that we should probably start looking into baby proofing the house... :)

Doing his best to look extra handsome before his big 'date'.

Hmmm...pretty girl or plastic bag?

Okay....pretty girl.

Into the Wild

Memorial Day weekend we rented a cabin with some friends in Salt Fork Park, an area just outside of Columbus.  Ashton was the only baby on the invite list, so while I was excited, I was a little nervous too.  Fortunately, he did his parents proud.

He slept very well and barely uttered a peep (read: cry) the entire time we were there.  Clearly, he was showing off and loving all of the attention and praise from our friends for his excellent behavior and pleasant demeanor.  Whatever the reason, I’ll take it!

It was HOT, HOT, HOT that weekend!  We did manage to take a hike on a shady trail though and did some exploring around the park.  We also had lots of fun cooking out, playing cornhole, having a campfire, making smores and playing Catchphrase.  It was a fun-filled weekend!

Happy boy on his first 'camping' trip.

Doesn't every kid have a fake beer drinking pic?

Mr. Giggles

Ashton has been giggling for quite some time now but we are just figuring out how to post video with HTML code, hence they are a bit old.  His giggles are my absolute favorite and Jeff and I will do pretty much anything to hear that little laugh.  In most cases, I’m not sure what is funnier, Ashton giggling or Jeff and I trying to make him laugh.  In any event, enjoy Mr. Giggles in action!

Go Tribe!

We celebrated our wedding anniversary this year with Ashton’s first trip to an Indian’s game.  I wasn’t initially sure how he would like it given all of the loud noise and extended periods of sitting but I’m happy to report that Ashton loved it!  We may have a little baseball fan on our hands!   We danced to all of the music when the batters came up to bat and he loved people watching and looking at all of the lights in the stadium.

It was a night game and actually a little chilly so we didn’t stay the whole time but he did make it through a solid 6 and a half innings…not bad for his first showing.  He even enjoyed the walk back to the car.  It was his first downtown outing at night and he was mesmerized by all of the city lights.  A perfect anniversary celebration with my boys!

And for the record, the Indians beat the Mariners 9-3.

We had to get dogs!
Very intent little fan.

Starting to fade - baseball usually has the same effect on me. :)
