Early days with Elise

Elise's first month was mix of new baby bliss and sleep deprivation. We've also discovered that, when it comes to children, one plus one most definitely does not equal two.  :)  Elise is following in her brother's footsteps...at her one month check up she was in the 50th percentile for length at 21 inches and 10th percentile at 7 lbs 11 oz for weight.  She is such a sweet little bean!

Bath time

Elise's first bath was a family affair.  Ashton was very excited and really wanted to help.  Elise didn't love the water at first but once we added extra warm water, she calmed down and seemed to enjoy it.

Ashton's 1st Shiner :(

Last week, I had both kiddos myself for the first night.  Everything was going great until Ashton took a header off the couch into the coffee table.  Ouch!  Poor little buddy.  I knew as soon as he did it that a shiner was likely...well, a proper shiner it was. 

P.S. - I think all other caregivers were secretly (or not so secretly) happy that this happened on my 'watch' and not theirs!

Be My Valentine

Elise's first outing was on Valentine's Day to Rocky River Brewing Company for lunch.  She was a doll and slept the whole time allowing Jeff and I time to enjoy our meal (and a beer!) and entertain Ashton. She also modeled some Valentine's clothes that she was given - we think she looked pretty cute!  :)

Elise - Meet & Greet

We've had lots of visitors (if you can count family as visitors :D) recently to meet our sweet little gal.  Grammy was here for the first week with us and then Grandma Nat and Granddaddy flew to Cleveland followed by Aunt Ern.  It's not lost on us that Cleveland is not on many people's top 10 places to visit in the dead of winter - we truly appreciate all the love that everyone has shown our darling girl.
