Easter Fun

Ashton had a great first Easter!  We kicked off the weekend with his first trip to the West Side Market to pick up half a leg of lamb for dinner on Sunday.  Yummy!  He got all squeaky clean with a bath on Saturday night, so he was ready for his Easter debut in the morning.  We made it to church pretty much on time and even found seats!  Ashton was good throughout the service - I had to walk him around a little during the homily but he loved looking at the stained glass windows and hearing all of the music.  When we got home later, Ashton opened his Easter basket. His basket included two books (Little Bunny Foo Foo, which was a fav of mine and a child's Bible), a sign language DVD, a bunny, a duck and some candy for mommy and daddy. :)  He seemed to like everything and especially loved his little ducky!

Back to the Grind...

The dreaded day came last week when I had to return to work...yuck!  I was very emotional over the weekend just thinking about having to leave my little man.  He also decided to really tug at the heartstrings by being an extra wonderful baby during our final days and even uttered his first serious giggle.  He laughed, I cried  - what can I say?

Fortunately, the old adage that things are often worse in your mind than they are in reality was true once again.  I'm pleased to report that my first week back went shockingly well!  I worked half days in the office and the remainder from home, which was a very nice transition.  Going forward, my plan is to work 1-2 days/week from home.

Of course, the other piece that made my transition so much easier was knowing that Ashton was in such good hands with Andrea.  She's been amazing - sending several pics of Ashton each day and keeping a journal of all of their daily activities.  Ashton had a great first week and was all smiles!  I have no doubts that Andrea and Ashton will be best buddies. :)

All smiles!

Sporting his new shades...

Apparently, Aloysius is pretty funny.

Happy boy!

My new fav hat - thanks Auntie Andrea!

Sunshiny Days

Could we have asked for a nicer winter this year?!?  Fortunately, we were able to enjoy many of these days with the little man outside.  Just before I went back to work, we capped off the warmest winter in 140 years (really!) with a nice stretch of 70 and 80 degree days.  Needless to say, Ashton and I soaked up every last minute of this sunny bliss together!

There was one snag to all of this record breaking heat though...the boy had no clothes to wear!  Fortunately, when we were back in Delaware visiting family and learned of the fabulous weather coming our way, his dear Aunt Anna generously offered some of my nephew Drew's baby duds. This was especially nice since she had to leave the party to go home to pick the stuff up since we were leaving the next morning.  Thanks again Aunt Anna!

Without further ado, a few pics of Ashton modeling his resort wear collection - largely courtesy of the Delaware Clothiers. :)

The heat makes me very sleeeepy

I bought this outfit for our Florida trip - never expected to wear it in Cleveland...in March!
