Memorial Day Weekend

We traveled back East to Delaware for the holiday weekend.  Poor A was sick with a fever and ear infection for the first part of the trip but rallied in the second half to return to his usual happy, smiley self. 

We had fun at the local park and visiting my best friend from high school, Goldie, and her two sweet girls.  On Monday, we had a yummy family BBQ, where Ashton got to play with all of his cousins.  He was in heaven!

Happy Arbor Day!

We celebrated Arbor Day, and one of the first nice spring days in Cleveland, at the Holden Arboretum.  It was SO nice to get outside after a long winter and a late spring.  It's a beautiful place any time of the year, but I'm always a sucker for springtime buds.  Oh and Ashton had fun exploring also.  ;)

Visitors

My mom and sister came to visit also in April (a reminder that I’m behind in my blogging!!).  We had a great weekend – the only trouble is they always go too quickly. 

We kicked off the weekend at Ashton’s favorite Mexican restaurant where he devoured guacamole, refried beans and rice.  The next morning he worked off his dinner at swimming lessons.  As an added treat, Grammy took him swimming, and they had a blast!  We relaxed the rest of the day, played outside and went to the library.  On Sunday, we went to the Lake Erie Nature Center, which is a another favorite of Ashton’s, and then went out to dinner before saying our goodbyes at the airport.  Until next time!

Grandma Nat & Grandaddy to the Rescue!

In April, Grandma Nat and Grandaddy came up to visit and buy us some time while looked for a new childcare provider for Ashton (we had recently parted ways with Andrea, Ashton’s nanny – on good terms, of course).  We can’t thank them enough for coming up to help us out as I was traveling and Jeff was working nights that week, so we were in a real pickle!  Ashton loved spending time with his grandparents and of course they spoiled him rotten!  They took lots of walks, played outside, went to the library, aquarium and out to a few restaurants.  We not only appreciated their help but really enjoyed their company!
