Pics with Santa

We took Ashton downtown this year to visit Santa. It was a fun night out, despite the long line. There was an indoor train in the mall, a snow village and a private room for Santa. So once you did finally make your way up to meet St. Nick, you had a room to take pics and tell Santa all your Christmas wishes. Ashton loved Santa and told him that he wanted a train and a house. Not sure where he got the house from - maybe from listening to Jeff and I talk about it!

 

In any event, we had a great time.  We went to dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe afterward, which was also kinda fun and nostalgic - reminded me of school trips when we were younger.

Ashton's 2nd Bday Party

Due to a certain little lady's arrival, I'm a bit behind on my blogging but am trying to catch up - in order.  So here goes... 
 
We decided to celebrate Ashton's 2nd bday party before Christmas this year in an effort to space out all of the craziness in late December/early January.  It worked out great!  We had a small party with some of his friends/babysitters and then celebrated with family (my mom, Jeff & I) on his actual bday.
 
For his party, we did a Thomas the train theme since Ashton LOVES trains (and really any kind of car, truck, tractor or other moving vehicle).  We decided to wait to decorate for the party until he was taking his nap so that when he came downstairs, he would be surprised.  He loved it and had such a fun time - he talked about it for weeks later.  Success!

First snow

We received our first serious snowfall in early December and decided to make a snow totem pole to celebrate.  Seriously though, getting a round, fat snowman is harder than it looks!  :)
